Armin Landeck
Biography
Mr. Landeck established himself as a master of drypoint etching, which falls in the “intaglio” family of printmaking. Meticulously etched into copper plates, Mr. Landeck’s prints show otherworldly attention to detail, creating dramatic contrasts of light and shadow via highly detailed crosshatching.
Mr. Landeck’s body of work is characterized throughout by its sharp lines, rich textures, and tonal depth. Over his career, Landeck created over 140 prints, many of which are now considered masterpieces of American printmaking.
